Ngunjiri Wambugu Reacts As Wiper Party Secretary General Says Gachagua Is A Divisive Tribal Leader

Political commentator and former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has reacted to recent remarks made by Wiper Secretary General Senator Shakila Abdalla against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

In a social media post, Wambugu dismissed suggestions that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka had anything to do with the senator’s statements. 

He maintained that the comments were made independently and should not be linked to Kalonzo in any way.

Wambugu appeared keen to shield Kalonzo from political fallout, arguing that dragging the Wiper leader into the debate would create unnecessary tension within opposition ranks. 

He suggested that any attempt to associate Kalonzo with the remarks would only complicate matters for Gachagua, whom he referred to by the nickname Jofri.

His reaction came shortly after media reports highlighted Senator Abdalla’s criticism of Gachagua’s style of politics, which she claimed threatens national unity. 

The remarks quickly sparked debate online, with supporters and critics weighing in on the wider political meaning behind them.
