Celebrated nationwide on December 12, media personality Jeff Koinange took a moment to reflect on Kenya’s history through a deeply personal lens. 

In a heartfelt post, Koinange recounted how his own family was directly affected by the struggles leading up to independence.

“I want Kenyans to remember that freedom came at a cost,” Koinange said, highlighting that 15 members of his family were detained during the colonial era.
