PS Raymond Omollo Says Madaraka Day Preparations in Wajir Will Bring Lasting Benefits to Local Communities

Raymond Omollo has said that the investments being made ahead of this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations in Wajir County will bring long-term economic and social benefits to the region and its residents.

Speaking during preparations for the national event, the Interior Principal Secretary explained that the government is not only focusing on hosting the celebrations but also on improving infrastructure and services that will continue to benefit the community long after the event is over.

Madaraka Day, which is celebrated every year on June 1, marks the day Kenya attained internal self-rule from colonial administration.

The national celebrations are often held in different parts of the country, giving regions outside major cities an opportunity to host the important event.
