Premier League clubs monitoring the situation of Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly ahead of January

Some Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation of Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly ahead of the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

The Arsenal academy graduate has found himself behind Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie in the pecking order of manager Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium club.

Lewis-Skelly was not called up by England manager Thomas Tuchel for the World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania later this month, with the German insisting he has to play more for the Gunners.

The 19-year-old has played 12 times across all competitions for Arsenal this term, but has yet to start a Premier League game.

Lewis-Skelly signed a long-term contract in the summer, but the lack of regular opportunities could see suitors look to lure him away from the North London club in January.

Arsenal are not looking to sell such an important player, but it remains to be seen whether their stance would change if he asks to leave or if a huge offer is brought to the negotiation table.

Lewis-Skelly will be a guaranteed starter at most Premier League clubs, and while he has what it takes to force his way back into the plans of Arteta, his chances appear slim right now.

There are still plenty of games to play between now and the end of the season, and he will get chances to start games.
