Fresh Cracks Emerge in ODM as Mombasa Woman Rep Goes After Sifuna, Accuses Him of Disrespecting Joho
Divisions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) continued on Sunday after Mombasa County Woman Representative Zamzam .
Mohammed publicly called on Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna to quit the party if he was tired of its affairs.
Speaking at an interdenominational service organized by ODM in Kilifi County, Zamzam accused Sifuna of waging a cold war against former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.
The outspoken Mombasa Woman Rep stressed that Joho’s contributions to ODM are too significant and cannot be ignored.
"There are people talking a lot, trying to divide the party. They think they know more than others because they talk a lot.
They must respect Hassan Ali Joho. They should know that Hassan Joho fought for this party," she said.
The Woman Rep voiced strong support for Joho and current Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Nassir, who's one of ODM’s three deputy party leaders.
Zamzam reaffirmed the commitment of coastal leaders and communities to the party. She insisted that neither Joho nor the coastal bloc can be sidelined or removed from ODM.
She maintained that it is people like Sifuna who should leave ODM, and not the coastal people.
Zamzam's remarks came a day after Joho hinted at being pushed out of ODM.
Speaking during the ODM at 20 celebrations at Mama Ngina Front in Mombasa on Saturday.
The Mining and Blue Economy CS delivered a fiery warning to those attempting to kick him out of the Orange party.
