The African continent continues to unite in grief as tributes pour in for the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.

A towering political figure whose influence extended far beyond Kenya’s borders

On Sunday, former President of the African Development Bank Group, Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina.

visited the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga homestead at Kango ka Jaramogi in Bondo to pay his final respects.

Dr. Adesina described Raila as an African statesman whose commitment to the continent’s unity, industrial growth, and infrastructural connectivity was unmatched. 

Raila served as the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development from 2018 to 2022.

where he championed major continental projects aimed at boosting trade, integration and free movement among African nations.

Speaking during the visit, Ruth Odinga emphasized that Raila’s impact was deeply felt across Africa, noting that he tirelessly advocated for a unified and prosperous continent. 

She said the Jaramogi family remains open to all leaders, groups, and citizens from across Africa who wish to honor Raila’s legacy.

“Africa knows what he gave. Africa knows what he stood for. 

Africa knows what he never compromised,” Ruth stated, reaffirming that Raila’s legacy will remain etched in Africa’s collective memory.

The condolence visits are expected to continue in the coming days as Africa mourns a leader many regarded as a visionary, bridge-builder, and relentless advocate for justice and equity.
