Heartbreak as Father Clings to Hope for Daughter’s Recovery, Unaware She Has Already Passed On
The 32-year-old believes his eight-year-old daughter, Supriya, is safe at home waiting for him. What he does not know is that she died instantly in the road accident that left him critically injured.
The tragedy happened on Friday afternoon as Khan was taking Supriya home from school on his electric motorbike.
Along the busy Parika road, a speeding pick-up truck, allegedly driven by an intoxicated man, rammed into them from behind.
The crash threw both father and daughter onto the tarmac.
Supriya was rushed to De Kinderen Hospital, but she never made it past the emergency doors. Doctors pronounced her dead shortly after arrival.
Her father was transferred to another facility with a fractured skull and multiple injuries.
Doctors have advised the family not to break the news of Supriya’s death to him until his condition stabilises.
